The Dunlap Family Athletic and Recreation Center is a transformative new facility currently under construction on the campus of Saint Vincent College. Located adjacent to the Fred M. Rogers Center, the nearly 80,000-square-foot complex is designed to meet the growing demand for health, wellness, and athletic space for both the campus and surrounding Latrobe region. When completed in summer 2026, the center will serve as a dynamic hub for recreation, education, and community engagement.
Spanning 72,000 square feet in its initial phase, the center will significantly expand the College’s offerings for fitness, intramural sports, and varsity athletic training. It will include a fully equipped fitness room with cardio and circuit training equipment, a recreational indoor track, and multipurpose studios for yoga, Pilates, and group fitness classes. Student-athletes will benefit from a dedicated athletic training center for medical therapy and treatment, as well as modern locker rooms and a 70-yard indoor turf football field.
The facility’s flexible design supports far more than athletics. A health and wellness pavilion, meeting rooms, and gathering spaces— along with a health café and smoothie bar—will accommodate educational, cultural, and civic events. With amenities such as basketball and tennis courts, batting cages, and communal lounges, the center is designed to foster holistic well-being, promote student life, and welcome regional visitors to Saint Vincent’s campus.
Notably, the Dunlap Family Athletic and Recreation Center will also support Saint Vincent’s role as the summer training camp home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, further enhancing the facility’s impact and visibility.
Blending wellness, recreation, and community spirit, the Dunlap Center reflects Saint Vincent College’s commitment to cultivating a vibrant, inclusive environment that serves students and neighbors alike.
